The Road Development Authority (RDA) is a statutory body incorporated under the Road Development Authority Act No. 73 of 1981 under the Ministry of Highways and Road Development.
The Road Development Authority is the premiere Highway Authority in the country and is entrusted with the responsibility of developing & maintaining the National Highway Network.
The management of the RDA is effected by a full time Chairman and Board of Management appointed by the Ministry of Highways and Road Development. The Board of Management is responsible to the Minister for the implementation of Government policy in the development of the National Highway Network. The Director General is the Technical head of the RDA & there are 4 Additional Directors directly under the Director General.
There are 15 functional divisions in the RDA, with each division being headed by a Director.
